Post Elected DEMS rebuttals to Cantor, King etc. here. Post words of support from elected DEMS here! |
|
Edited on Fri Oct-07-11 03:34 PM by Dr Fate
We have heard all about how those Republicans are attacking us, calling us mobs, etc. We have heard snide media people comparing us to Tea Baggers as well.
Well now it is time to hear the rebuttals from elected DEMS on this.
We have heard the bad things and direct opposition Republicans are expressing- so let's also hear about the GOOD things and direct support the DEMS are expressing.
Post responses from all the fight'n DEMS here so that we can see them all in one place.

2. Miller (NC), Sanders (VT), Guiterez?, Kucinich (OH), Slaughter (NY) |
|
Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Don't have time to look up their quotes, though we've had some threads re Miller's attendance at Occupy Raleigh here in NC.

Two Democrats speak-out in support…. “We share the anger and frustration of so many Americans who have seen the enormous toll that an unchecked Wall Street has taken on the overwhelming majority of Americans while benefitting the super wealthy. We join the calls for corporate accountability and expanded middle-class opportunity.”
“We have been inspired by the growing grassroots movements on Wall Street and across the country,” say Rep. Raul Grijalva, D-Ariz. and Rep. Keith Ellison, co-signing a statement.
The Demcorats join Bernie Sanders, (I) Vermont, in support of OWS-NYC and the movement in general.

12. Pelosi: Cantor supported Tea Party when they were spitting on us |
|
I support the … the message to the establishment, whether it's Wall Street or the political establishment and the rest, that change has to happen," Pelosi said on ABC. "We cannot continue in a way that does not - that is not relevant to their lives."
Some Republicans have spoken out in opposition to the demonstrations.
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) described Wall Street protesters as a mob on Friday and implied Democrats were egging them on.
"I didn't hear him say anything when the Tea Party was out demonstrating, actually spitting on members of Congress right here in the Capitol," Pelosi said. "And he and his colleagues were putting signs in the windows encouraging them. But let's not get down to that."
