The love of power and money... |
|
When we break everything down to its common denominator, we find the root of the problem is money. Money in politics and money on Wall Street. They are connected at the hip and they have stolen the democracy from the people of this country.
The only way we can take it back is to take the money out of politics. Only then will the elected officials be representative of the people at large. At present, the majority are bought and paid for. They are professional politicians that do not look at their positions as ones of public service but rather ones of personal careers. There is something very wrong with that picture.
They have the power of the police and of the military. They know better than to use it too randomly or too thoughtlessly. But, they will use it if necessary. If the protests become too much of a threat, they will crack down. There will be only a limited amount of free speech and freedom of movement permitted. Power does not surrender voluntarily. It must be defeated.
Money and politics have married. They will not be defeated easily. Only when we unite as a people will we be able to fight them. The OWS are leading the way.

There are three things that motivate people at a basic level -- money, power, and sex. Depending on which is in the ascendancy in their personality they will risk everything, even the other two, two get it.
Example: Bill Clinton had both money and power -- and risked them both for sex. The pope forgoes sex -- so we're led to believe -- for power and a lavish lifestyle.
It's no accident that monastic orders require vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. They knew.

After man has bought everything he can, he makes more money so he can buy another man...
