The Police are in the 99%
Every Occupy event shouid have that as the biggest sign. If that happens, Occupy will have no major ptoblems.

4. The white shirts are the bosses
They don't trust the rank and file to enforce their orders.

3. JP Morgan Chase Freedom (see if you can buy your way out of economic slavery)
gave $4.6 M to the NY Fraternal Order of Police, if that's not a buy off. Can we charge them with bribery?

8. good
and I hope that they do it for the other police forces in the 200 cities that are running ows.

It may be indirect, but 100 billion more and they will touch paying their fair share.

5. I'm sorry musiclawyer, but I'm in complete disagreement with...
...this thought. The police are NOT our friends. They do NOT care about the public as a general rule. I'm certain there are exceptions (there always are, to ANY rule), but the vast, VAST majority of police are not with us. They don't like us (in fact, many would say they hate us). They would cheer to be able to arrest us and drag us through the streets. Their Badge serves as a Shield of Defense that is only now slowly starting to wear around the edges. That doesn't make them more on our side, that makes them more AGAINST it because they SEE themselves losing their power to effective use of social media, cams, and so forth.

When the Big Blue Shield is a Big Blue Myth, I'll welcome them. And not ONE SOLITARY SECOND earlier.

7. they betrayed us a long time ago....
They work for the 1%, willingly. They oppress the 99% on behalf of the rich and powerful. That alone makes them pigs, IMO. They may in fact be part of the 99%, but they abdicated any right to respect when they made their choice to serve as the thug arm of the power elite.

9. The people who are slamming the 99ers remind me of the commercial were the lady is using her car
remote to try to open up a rolls royce and she can't understand why it is not working. Here husband is in the background looking at her and then their mini-van. Then the voiceover says something about "not being rich but you will feel like it" for purchasing their product.
Just because they have a job they think they are in the 1% and don't have a clue that they are just one sickness or lay-off from poverty.

Does this commercial ring a bell to anyone? Do you know what it is for?

10. As the Brooklyn Bridge arrests were occurring, the crowd was chanting
Edited on Fri Oct-07-11 06:35 PM by Cal Carpenter
(something like)

"We're marching to protect your pensions"

(It was catchier and probably rhymed but I don't remember the exact words)

The vast majority of the protesters know this. When I was in Chicago at their event earlier this week, it was commonly mentioned. I was chatting with one of the Federal Reserve Bank security officers and asked 'are you entertained by this, at least?' and she said 'Sure, and I'm getting a lot of overtime too!' and smiled.

12. When JP Morgan "donates" $4.6 million to them on the eve of the protests...
... you're a fool to think they'll be on the side of the protesters.

A simple sign is going to change the culture and reality of paid-for professional police and reverse a century of fact?

Please..........
