I'm heading off to the subway to go to Liberty Square. I'll use this thread to keep you all up to date on what's happening today. Hopefully there's no issue with our meeting spot. We'll meet at 11AM.

I will have a sign that says DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND on it and I will wear a white long sleeve DU shirt.
I also have 4 double sided signs for people to take and plenty of small fliers.

We will meet at the cube on the South East Corner of Broadway and Liberty St in Manhattan at 11AM.

13. everyone plz LOOK at my pictuuuurrrres from Wall Street !!!!!!!

I just know there was someone from DU there when I went Wednesday!!! But I didn't meet them. We were in NY for a (PORTISHEAD) concert so we only spent a couple of hours with the Wall Street people, but we got to walk with the march for a while. The camping site is big, everyone's things covered with plastic. I think the people staying there thought people like us were just there to take pictures, like tourists, but I was with them 100%, just had to go to a concert and them the train home.

There's a few thousand starving PEOPLE that amount of money could feed. It's just sick..

I know too many people who watch hours & hours of tv each day, engrossed in whatever it's showing them.. but they think people like us, protesting what our 'Democracy' has turned into, are silly. My own father-in-law practically scowled when we told him what we'd done Wednesday. Even people who aren't really 'conservative' think it's dumb to protest against things as clearly wrong as what the top 5% are doing to the rest of our futures. The thing he seemed to care about, driving us home from the train, was the tax he has to pay on his monstrous 10-mpg truck. OH, Thanks for the glorious future you super-comfy oil-gobbler :eyes:

What if no one ever stood up and protested? It kills me that I have people in my own family who think this way. I can see clearly, from my own relatives, that getting people hooked on TV has been a great thing for the big corporations. What a shame it is.

It was exciting to go there. I've gone to a lot of protests the last few years (mostly anti-war) but this time I kinda felt like just a watcher, a tourist :blush:
I'm glad we got there in time for the march. And at least I got good photos. These people rock!!!

in the mere two hours I was there this is totally what I got from the crowd!!! There are great people there. I overheard a man telling someone of how he'd heard of people being arrested, then flew straight over from Hawaii to be part of it!

I hope it lasts. Many Americans are so complacent, it makes me sick inside.

I work for a food bank and we're gleaning an apple orchard this afternoon in southwestern Connecticut. OWS matters... the demand on food banks continues to stretch all available resources. Food bank distributions have become the new normal for the working and middle class who have been crushed by the greed of the 1%. We need the voices of OWS to be loud and strong so we can eventually go out of business.

Very upbeat environment. The people there are sacrificing comfort in a big way. Lots of tourists from WTC.

Hundreds of supportive skateboarders were here earlier. I'm gone now, but others are still there. I'll post a lot more tonight. Thanks for the support.

RENEW DEAL was introduced to Brendan Burke, who serves as our main OWS-NYC gatekeeper and concierge.

He made his way through the Liberty Park scene and spent hours getting involved.

Next Saturday let's do it again !
