One of my staff members went to the demonstration yesterday and spoke with a Huffington Post stringer/blogger. She said it was quite positive down there and she's sort of a semi-veteran of the Movement. But first-hand I have to tell you all that around Logan Circle, down from City Hall where the protest is taking place, they had dozens of police cars, interestingly, with letter and number signs which I haven't seen for YEARS. We're used to the Distrct numbers and the Tactical vehicles, but there were some interesting appellations which haven't been on the streets downtown in my recollection.
Just in case it hasn't been mentioned, the Mayor stopped by the protest the other night and showed solidarity, according to the papers and Philly.com. We shall see.
