I.cannot.get.enough.of.george.clooney.

OK (pulls self together), I don't know what segment of the show he will be on but I cannot wait to see him land a few zingers on Joe Scarborough's doughy butt...

Plus, George is eye candy and he is funny and very smart and liberal...that alone will enrage more than one RWinger...

3. Keep your mitts off George! I get first dibs. I may have the good fortune to meet him
at a funeral one of these days (no, I won't say who is in declining health who we mutually know).

4. Calm down. He's only eye candy to me. Also, he looks like my son.
So that's enough for me.

19. a dinner event in NYC a few years ago that was also a birthday tribute to W Cronkite
who, through Rosemary Clooney was a friend of George's. So I met Walter too. And George was given a humantarian award by the group hosting it. It was pretty awesome.

Good fortune and funerals rarely live in the same sentence.

11. I'd watch George Clooney on Faux News if I had to...
Which considering I don't have cable would take some doing. Fortunately, I don't have to.

Oh, Clooney. He'd be sexy as hell if he had only his intelligence. Intelligence plus his incredible sense of humor makes him nearly incomparable....With his looks, my Gawd... Sorry guys, but that's an impossible measure. ;)

Really cute...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23j1B4-lroM

And another, Matt Damon on Letterman and a funny joke "George Clooney is going to marry his boyfriend.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ometb79hMh0&NR=1&feature=fvwp"

21. Oh, geez... the "marry your boyfriend" one was hilarious....
And heaven with John Malkovitch.....LOL...But, it is a good thing Clooney does have a good sense of humor with buds like Pitt and Damon. I wonder what he did to get them "back?" ;)

22. Wondering the same thing...
Damon did such a great job telling that story to Letterman. His imitation of the Italian interviewer was just hysterical. And the gay man stripping in front of George...priceless... And the Malkovitch ad was wonderful...two very fine actors doing what they do best...I wonder how much of it was ad libbed by them...

On a more serious note, I am wondering what Clooney wants to say on MJ. Is he going to talk politics or movies? I saw Sarah Jessica Parker on MJ a few months ago, but she was totally apolitical and talked about how all her friends watched MJ, yadda, yadda...hopefully, George will be more substantive...

24. Oh, Clooney will be discussing the vote in Sudan to split North from South
He has been instrumental in trying to prevent violence around this. It is a passion for him.

This is a negative piece from Foreign Affairs on his efforts that appeared on NPR, but I post it because it gives some overview. The criticism of an actor's efforts is predictable, no matter the outcome, IMO.

25. Well, I think Clooney might just have an idea of his own limitations here.
He is not an idiot. I think he gets it which is to say the limitations of what his celebrity can do. But he does try and that's important. Here is what he had to say:

Find another cause — I don't care. We're working, and we're going forward."

What would his critics have him do? Ignore his basic feelings and just walk away? Be a silent donor and not tell anyone?

Using his celebrity he can raise consciousness among the American people. That is no small thing. We are so insular in this country we don't consider what goes on in the rest of the world. It is sad.

I hope he succeeds. I am all for him. Good for George Clooney!

18. Out west, we call 'Morning Joe' nighttime.
Nobody here is awake at 3 am except bakers, tweekers, opossums, raccoons, and the occasional cop and newspaper delivery dude.

I've never seen it and from the sound of it, that is a good thing.

It's too bad in a way because some of it is good...some really good guests who offer insights I find helpful...

Is it rerun anywhere?

20. It must be about Sudan
It will probably be serious rather than zinger-filled, but still good. I like celebrities who use their fame to bring attention to important topics.

27. George's dad Nick is a cool dude too.
I saw this good looking white haired guy on a PBS Begathon and he kept talking about "Rosemary" So I figured out eventually that he must be Rosemary Clooney's brother and therefore George's dad. He was in TV broadcasting in Kentucky.

Nick falls into that category of "Old but still handsome" :loveya: I'm getting to where that's my age group.

George & Nick are gonna be on Piers Morgan's show on CNN (Larry King takeover) this week but I'm not sure what day.
