Supposed Craigslist ad paying for protestors for OWS? |
|
Folks - need your help. An uninformed person has posted on my FB page, "Does it bother you that these are paid protestors? There is an ad up on Craigslist".
First - I highly doubt it.
Second - If it is? Forgive me for my moment of conspiracy theory here but . . . isn't that something Freedom Works would do for the sole intent of taking the wind out of the sails of this beautiful wondrous protest that probably has the Koch brothers shaking in their size two shoes?
Did a quick search of DU and the internet and not finding anything. I also asked this person to post a 'link to their info so we could notify OWS'. I highly doubt she will . . . she most likely heard it on Faux.
I want to slam back there. . . and if this b.s. exists as a news story out there - get that info to the OWS web site.
Thanks!

For those candidates that qualify WFP offers substantial paid-training provided by senior leadership, on varied issues such as: advocacy, public speaking, mobilizing, fundraising, networking and organizing. We invest in passionate people with excellent communication skills and a full benefits package is offered to those candidates that qualify. In addition, there is opportunity for advancement and travel to our satellite chapters and out of state affiliates.
This is not a policy job! Through direct action you will be shaping NY state politics for the next 20 years.
If you care about New York and want to help educate and mobilize around legislative campaigns-then we look forward to hearing from you!

10. And of course, that ad says nothing about paying people to protest |
|
It's a job ad for a political party looking for people to work there.
Of course, in FOX-world, I guess it can be anything they want it to be.

This organization runs a lot of ads. I saw the link above on facebook. Connecting it to OWS is BS. http://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/gov/

The WFP is associated with Acorn.
None of the jobs listed refer to OWS.
It's O'Keefe, bank on it.

|
It sounds like BS to me. Who would pay for OWS protestors?

5. Interesting. Anyone could post such an ad on CL |
|
They don't even ever have to respond to its replies. Just put it out there and point to it. So even if your friend provides a link, it proves nothing.
I wonder if it would bother your friend to know that American Spectator employees are deliberately stirring up trouble at the protests. At least we know that's real! :)

She's not going to like what I post on her wall later. Precisely that. The guy down in D.C. right?
I find it funny that this woman (a friend's mother) was at all these TEA Party 'screaming shrill' events two years ago - and that was 'righteous and just'.
But a TRULY organic movement? One of the people and buy the people? Allllllllllllll of these people are getting paid? I claim a lie from the Right that they are telling themselves to feel better because the TEA party neveeeeeeeeer got this kind of traction.
150 cities beyotches. That's what I'm talking about. :pals:

6. They are trying to paint OWS as astroturf. |
|
Don't believe it. Sounds more like "jobs for the enviroment" and other fundraising schemes. A screenshot at this link. http://hotair.com/archives/2011/10/10/political-party-paying-occupy-wall-street-protesters/

9. Ad looks legit, and I don't see anything wrong with hiring people to help out at these things... |
|
...and it's not like they're trying to hide anything.
Seems legit.

19. The proper response: Nice try |
|
And, if our good friends at Wall Street are so concerned about the millions out of work, why don't they offer decent jobs at a living wage? There appear to be quite a number of educated, willing applicants literally on their doorstep. Unless they're too in love with grabbing as much as they can with both hands while the grabbing is good. Holding what they've grabbed might be a different matter, though.

Just look at any of the pics. With that many in attendance, is it fuggen necessary to pay anyone to be there?
Your friend is obviously thinking of the teabaggers that were bussed from one Town Hall meeting to another a while back so much that their faces were recognized in pics taken in different states.

22. It's a job to advance a legislative agenda. OWS has no such agenda. |
|
Typical RW bait and switch. They complain that the OWS has no agenda, then claim a group with a legislative agenda is OWS. The Working Families Party has been around for over a decade.
It shows you how worried the Dark Side is about the growing protests!
