That YouTube video Loughner made, walking around Pima College
I watched it and while he seemed like a troubled student, it didn't seem like there was any really disturbing content in it, such that Google/YouTube was issued a subpoena to provide info about the poster.

Makes me wonder how often these things happen!

1. I dunno, I watched it and found his words very disturbing. It was quite
obvious how disordered his thinking was. And paranoid.

3. Yeah, but dangerous? Enough for a subpoena?
This was issued in October.

2. His words were the disjointed and disconnected ramblings of an obvious schizophrenic.
And you want to say it wasn't disturbing?

Really?

4. You know how much of that I see on YouTube?
I never imagined that Google was being subpoenaed to appear before a Grand Jury for every such video.

5. The usual standard for commitment is that the person
has to be a danger to himself or others.

Disordered thinking, alone, does not meet this standard. He could not be committed; he could not be forced into treatment.

6. When he made the "homeless" remark
Saying that Pima college would make him homeless, I thought that after they kicked him out pending mental evaluation, his parents got angry and threatened him that they would kick him out as well unless he straightened out.

This thought was reinforced when it was reported that his dad got after him about that black bag.
