Bonus Democracy Now segments exclusively for WBAI? Interviewed author of new Afghanistan book
I was listening to Democracy Now on the WBAI website this morning. Right after the regular show ended after the 8AM Eastern hour (5AM in CA where I live) Amy Goodman went on a 10-minute pledge drive loop like a robot before starting an interview with journalist Jonathan Steele, author of the new book Ghosts of Afghanistan: The Haunted Battleground. It can be heard , starting at 9 minute mark. Apparently there's this program on WBAI that immediately follows DN, Background Briefing, that's about world affairs, but Amy said "welcome to Democracy Now" in her interview with Steele. That interview ran around 30 minutes then it's back to pledgebotting repeating the WBAI phone number and names of NYC neighborhoods.

This interview was not archived on democracynow.org. How often are there WBAI-only DN segments when DN is supposed to be a national program? In fact on Thursday after the regular show ended Amy kept on talking with Naomi Klein about Chile for about 10 minutes into the First Voices Indigenous Radio show (audio).

1. The wbai home page says "The programming schedule varies during fund drives."
During fund drives, pacifica stations have people come in live and/or do special features to get people to call in and donate.
This is on the wbai home page right now:

October Membership Drive.

WBAI is having a membership drive from October 5th through November 1st. The programming schedule varies during fund drives. See the schedule for Oct 5th through 9th and October 10th through the 16th. After the fund drive, we return to our regular schedule.

The phone number to pledge is (212) 209-2950

2. Not sure of the answer to "how often" but...

WBAI is where Amy developed DN! expanding on what she was doing on the Wake Up Call morning show back in the 90's. It would not be surprising that she'd have expanded material during a pledge drive. It's possible the extra material is available in one of the pledge drive packages.

Yes, she's relentless in pitch-mode. That's a good thing, because it helps fund independent media, and we have too little of that as it is.
