Yep, something is in the air.
Here in Wake County yesterday, Democrats kicked ass, won 4 seats on the school board and ousted chairman Margiotta. Progressive independent Nancy McFarlane won the race for mayor of Raleigh with more than 60% of the vote.

5. Last election, Tea Party nuttery took over the school board.
One term was enough of that craziness. Republicans ran two for mayor that would have turned back Raleigh from progress, but Nancy routed them. Transportation bonds and housing bonds passed with 2 to 1 majorities.
