Is there really such a creature as a 'Principled Republican Senator?'
the WH notes in a memo sent to supporters yesterday:

The U.S. Senate is supposed to vote on the American Jobs Act as early as tonight. It’s a bill that will put people to work immediately, and it contains proposals that members of both parties have said in the past that they’d support.

But Senate Republicans want to block it. Not because they have a plan that creates jobs right now — not one Republican, in Congress or in the presidential race, does. They only have a political plan.

Their strategy is to suffocate the economy for the sake of what they think will be a political victory. They think that the more folks see Washington taking no action to create jobs, the better their chances in the next election. So they’re doing everything in their power to make sure nothing gets done.

There’s still time for principled Republican senators to declare their independence from this kamikaze political strategy. And the only way it can happen is if they hear from constituents like you today . . .

1. Of course. When they're bought, they stay bought
They've all got principles. They're just the wrong principles.

4. They're used to be one or two
nowadays it seems like they are expected to "toe the line" and, sadly, when push comes to shove, most of them give in and choose their party over country.

5. Republicans are utterly unprincipled. They do what they are told.
Cowardly scum, they are.

7. Sure, but their "principles" include
screwing the little guy while looking out for the interests of the top 1%. R's are the party of the rich and privileged. Unfortunately, they play the "family values" and patriotism cards quite successfully - with a lot of help from the media - to garner votes and support from the clueless ordinary people they're shafting.

8. If they have an "R" next to their name and they are not screaming....
about how idiotic the party has become then they have no principals.

9. Those who voted NAY should be shunned and treated like criminals
The MSM needs to direct the blame there and not have 10 pundits who blame Obama and lie to every 1 honest actor.

10. That was in an off-off Broadway show that closed
the same night it opened. I believe the last principled Republican senator was Howard Baker.
