Has anyone else had a 21 day hold put on their PayPal account? |
|
I keep enough money in the account well in excess of what would ever be a refund, I have 100% rating on ebay and have no disputes & never have had any. The one thing I have done is make a few donation using them to what might be considered left wing groups. So I was wondering if maybe there were others here that have experienced the same thing.

1. I think it's just a means of squeezing more interest out of the accounts.. |
|
Paypal/Ebay is just holding the money so they can collect the interest on it.
If I find a decent alternative I'm gone so fast there'll be a sonic boom.

2. Do you use a tracking system for your shipments with delivery confirmation? |
|

I don't think they'll release the hold on an ebay transaction unless positive feedback is left and package tracking shows that it was delivered at least three days earlier.
They also apparently do this if your selling history is limited. Of course... they get to decide what "limited" means. :)

3. No. I've had an account for many years. |
|
Without any details of the hold or about your ebay transactions, it's impossible to answer your question.
Try asking in one of the ebay support forums. Provide enough information so people can understand what happened, and you'll probably get an answer.
No information, no answer.

4. I wonder whether you got a phishing (is that spelled right?) e-mail |
|
My son got an e-mail supposedly from Wells Fargo (he doesn't have a credit card with anybody, and nobody here has one with Wells Fargo), asking him to reply with his password and SS# or something like that. I've received e-mails from eBay that look EXACTLY like the real thing in terms of graphics but with a misspelling that tipped me off (plus I would never reply through an unsolicited e-mail anyway).
Could you get in touch with them through their "Contact Us" page and see whether there really is a hold?

6. They locked mine once. |
|
using as an excuse they were comlying with EU anti money laundering legistlation. To get it unlocked I had to register / reconfirm my bank details. At the same time they had done the same in Australia but not the USA. They were unable to substantiate exactly whic EU laws they refered to.
This was all done by phone. Bought and sold much lately? Maybe its the USA's turn now.

I can't remember the b.s. reason now but it was after I sold something on ebay. I had donated through Paypal too but that was last summer (2010) and then someone hacked into my account from the place that I had donated to.
