Obama beating the drums of war with Iran or.....not
Edited on Wed Oct-12-11 03:57 PM by SpartanDem
Some of you may remember an incident in September of 2009 when the US revealed that Iran has an undisclosed nuclear facility in violation of their sanctions. On DU there was more than a little hand wringing whether this was a pretense for a war with Iran. While the IAEA agreed US, the US did not start a war, it went to the UN to put additional sanctions on Iran. I know the way we were lied to in a war with Iraq was messed up, but lets not start seeing thing that are simply not there. It's almost as we have form post traumatic stress disorder. Anyway just this out here put much need perspective on this recent incident.

1. Let's hope not
Iraq and Afghanistan were relative pushovers and they've both cost us over a trillion dollars, each, with no end in sight.

Iran is much bigger, much more populous, much richer in industry, much better educated on the whole, and with a much better and bigger army.

Picking a fight with them would end in utter disaster.
