I missed a large chunk of the evening news |
|
due to a family issue. My husband came in from work a few minutes ago and said that he had heard an item on the radio stating that Romney has cut a deal with Christie for him to stay out of the race in exchange for the office of VP. I hope that is not true. Ugh.

5. I doubt it would be permitted. They'd completely write off the fundy vote |
|
and that's one of the last voting blocs they can count on.
Mitt is Mormon and Christie is pro choice, among other things. The fundies would freak out and they would not fall obediently into line.
Mitt will be saddled with a nutcase, either Perry or Bachmann or some screwball who isn't running now except off at the mouth.
The Republicans desperately need somebody to talk to crazy religious people. Christie can't do it and neither can Romney.
The only reason to run the two on the ticket would be to oust the fundies from the party in an attempt to get the old guard back into secure power and I don't think they're ready for that. They'd much rather run a fundy in the #2 spot and grab the presidency. They think.
