a way to adopt such a dog in grief one would have to obtain something from the owner in order to comfort him and lure him to a new home.

I realize that would interrupt the continuous coverage of the tuscon tragedy and analyzing the gunmans youtube videos.

12. "If fortune drives the master forth,... |
|
...an outcast in the world, friendless and homeless, the faithful dog asks no higher privilege than that of accompanying him, to guard him against danger, to fight against his enemies. And when the last scene of all comes, and death takes his master in its embrace and his body is laid away in the cold ground, no matter if all other friends pursue their way, there by the graveside will the noble dog be found, his head between his paws, his eyes sad, but open in alert watchfulness, faithful and true even in death."Senator Vest's Tribute to the Dog

and not at least get a lump in their throat at the end. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jurassic_Bark(Me, I won't watch it around company anymore. I start getting all verklempt.)

Manipulative maybe, but it's way better than many live action shows that try to elicit real emotion from the viewer.

Just comparing the poem to the photo. But it was a quote, not my words about the "Leao".

31. Goddess bless you, Leao! |
|
Obrigada!
And this is why I hate it when posters invade threads about animals, saying, WHY DON'T YOU CARE THIS MUCH ABOUT PEOPLE?
Well, um, maybe because people are often cruel and ignorant, while animals never are? Because humans will often abandon their family members in hour of need, while animals won't?

my little 16 year old dog.
Her arthritis is terrible, her entire face is white with age and she is losing her teeth. She will lie in her basket with her eyes fixed on me for hours at a time just hoping that she can fulfill my needs in some way. When I pet her face she appears to want to crawl right into my skin -she can't get close enough. She wants her front paws on me even though it hurts her hind quarters and back very much to do this. This is love, very tangible and unmistakable.
