I'm thinking about writing one of those 53% signs for crybabies of other stripes

I am 52 years old and do not have cancer. I did not engage in risky behaviors like smoking, so I don't have lung cancer.

I was wise enough to not have breasts, so I don't have breast cancer.

I also am immune to uterine cancer because, well, I'm too damned smart to have a uterus.

I know I won't get brain cancer because I don't have a brain anyway.

I am the 53%. I am better than you, because you have problems.

You could write any number of head-in-the-sand letters addressing the "whiners" out there. Their message seems to be that if the problem hasn't touched ME, it's not a problem.

I just don't understand this New Math. They claim to be the 53%, but when it comes to showing up to demonstrate, there's hardly anyone there. What's wrong with that picture?
