13. It's a Zogby "International poll."
In other words it's nonsense. In a real poll a vast majority of respondents wouldn't know who Chris Christie is. In a real poll taken in New Jersey, where people do know who he is, President Obama led him 55% to 38%.

4. Zogby poll as reported in The Hill by Bridget Johnson
Christie: 'Not arrogant enough' to believe experience is enough for White House
By Bridget Johnson - 01/16/11 09:32 AM ET

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) brushed off a Zogby poll from earlier this month that showed him leading a pack of hypothetical GOP 2012 contenders, adamantly stressing that's not in his plans.

"The president can rest easy because the only guy who beats him in that poll isn't running," Christie said on "Fox News Sunday."

This is a poll from January 4th. I scrape things off my boot that I respect more than Zogby.

21. I wonder if anyone was injured while taking that poll.

Pushed down the stairs, out the door and right off a cliff.

Zogby has proven to have zero credibility, among a long list of pollsters with zero credibility.

Edited on Sun Jan-16-11 10:43 AM by old mark
any GOPer...and that he will possibly run in '16 against an unknown Democrat.
Christie is VERY popular with the asshole right-he HATES all unions and government workers, even cops and firefighters, and hires his pals at giagantic salaries while cutting police by 40% in cities like Camden...

He might just win in 2016.

20. and the rumors...
unproven as they are, that he's corrupt going back to his days in the US atty's office. Corzine hinted to them, but never had anything concrete to show for it and NJ residents just didn't care.

If I knew there were skeletons in my closet, I'd avoid running for president too though.

Fuck Chris Christie. May he be chased by a bear to the point of exhaustion.

23. One problem - that is similar to Romney before the last election
It is very possible given the trend that he would lose if he ran again for Governor in 2013. If that happened, it would tamp down any credit he gets for ever being elected in NJ.

11. Too bad. Christie's discovered The Answer...
...and with the help of GOP R&D he may have finally developed the new product they needed to elect a president.

The Crab Bucket Syndrome. Attack public employees. If I don't have a job, you can't have a job. If my job sucks, your job has to suck, too.
  • it's bi-partisan—see discussions here on public-sector pensions—
  • it's ostensibly race-neutral—but you know who those employees all are, wink, wink—
  • it's not closely identified with any particular area of the country. It’s not obviously part of the religious wars, either.
And the federal government is the largest single employer in the country.

All the rage, without all the baggage. He could run with it all the way to the White House. If he doesn't run, I'm assuming some level of corruption scandal is ticking away in the background that precludes running for the nomination.

It's a shame that we are that superficial as a society, but sadly it is true.
