Please help block HB 358 that would eliminate emergency abortion care to women!
https://secure.aclu.org/site/Advocacy?cmd=display&page=UserAction&id=3709

The House of Representatives is set to vote this Thursday on H.R. 358, the so-called "Protect Life Act", which would deny emergency abortion care to women — even if their lives are in danger. If it passes, this bill would allow hospitals to simply turn away a pregnant woman experiencing a life-threatening complication without further regard for her health or well-being. In addition to permitting hospitals to simply abandon women whose lives are on the line, this legislation would effectively ban insurance coverage of abortion in the new health care system — taking away insurance coverage that millions of women already have.

It is urgent that you act right now to keep this bill from becoming law. Tell your representative to vote NO on H.R. 358.

2. Kick,
Though it stand a snow ball's chance in hell to pass the Senate, support strong / vocal opposition to the proposed House bill. This is pure politics trampling on long established medical ethics.

3. I would put the odds of this
even coming to a vote in the Senate at near zero, the odds of it passing in the Senate at zero and the odds of a Presidential signature at exactly zero. Put those together and my predicted odds are zero that this has a chance of becoming law no matter what the vote in the House.

I have no problem with contacting members of the House to oppose it but IMO it's nothing more than another RW wacko attempt to get a vote in on some idiotic red meat issue for the neanderthal base in their home district.

6. I wrote to my Congressman Mack about my personal experience
with having a life treatening tubal pregnancy. If hospitals refuse to treat women with these pregnancies, their tubes WILL repture, massive internal bleeding WILL occur, and women WILL die. For WHAT? There will be no babies saved under these circumstances; only DEAD WOMEN.

And for what it's worth, these people are not soothsayers. They cannot know what the future will hold. If I had died from this pregnancy, not only would my husband have been left without a wife, my daughter motherless, but my younger daughter would never have been born. I wrote this also in my letter.

While I am very much pro choice, not even leaving an exception of for life of the mother, is beyond the pale. They don't like murdering babies, well then murdering women is what they will be doing with this, and their other extreme views.
