Dear fellow Americans, as a Texan I feel it is my duty to explain

the confusion some people have over Rick Perry. I've seen comments about how he is inarticulate and mumbles on stage. I've seen comments that he looks drugged for these debates and never answers questions in an honest and transparent way.

Let me clear a lot of this up for you - Rick Perry is a fucking coward that has never been forced to stand in the spotlight and declare what he believes in or thinks about the world. His handlers have told him the formula - push all questions off until a later date (when he is POTUS) and time. It has not worked. Perry rubs elbows with the fundamentalist church crowd, IOW he mumbles to people half-asleep. That is the best he can do.

Frankly, I think his campaign is swirling faster and faster in the GOP toilet. As Molly Ivins might have said; that turd got flushed long ago and is just circling the bowl.

My friend in Texas talks about him as though he's the second coming. The first thing we blurt out whenever she starts is - "oh, you mean the 'well, we could always just secede' guy?" She hates that. But she believes the slogans - "oh the jobs he's created! Hey, even those lousy minimum wages jobs are better than no job aren't they?" And that's all she's got. Unfortunately, the longer he stumbles around on the national stage, the less I like him. He's like the cheap version of george w. bush, complete with the phony cowboy swagger and the hatred of the letter "g" on the end of any present participle.

I was absolutely shocked when he refused to debate Bill White. He knew he'd wipe the floor with him. I had never paid much attention to Perry's character up to that point (only his policies)- not that I was shocked to discover he's a douche bag coward.
