EMERGENCY CALL TO ACTION: Prevent the Forcible Closure of #OccupyWallStreet’s Liberty Park!

Tell Bloomberg: Don’t Foreclose the Occupation.

NEED MASS TURN-OUT: 6AM FRIDAY EVICTION DEFENSE

This is an emergency situation. Please take a minute to read this, and please take action and spread the word far and wide.

Occupy Wall Street is gaining momentum, with occupation actions now happening in cities across the world.

But last night Mayor Bloomberg and the NYPD notified Occupy Wall Street participants about plans to “clean the park”—the site of the Wall Street protests—tomorrow starting at 7am. “Cleaning” was used as a pretext to shut down “Bloombergville” a few months back, and to shut down peaceful occupations elsewhere.

1. Don't leave the park to begin with. Let them clean around you.
I smell a rat.

Better yet, just start cleaning up voluntarily right now.

2. I heard he has given them permission to stay indefinitely. He just wants them to

clear out so that they can clean up the place, and they can return.

8. It is a privately owned park
Maybe the OW'rs can purchase it if they want to play in it.

11. It's not that simple...
... yes, it's privately owned. But it is designated as "public space," so it is a bit of a legal grey area.

If the city chooses to push occupants out of the space on the grounds that it is privately owned, they will not be steady ground. Zuccotti Park was created in exchange for increased height for 1 Liberty Plaza the building just to the north of the Park. Of course, the tenants of 1 Liberty Plaza do not want us to know the public helped pay for their digs. They include Goldman Sachs, Royal Bank of Canada, as well as NASDQ Headquarters, among others. There is a reason Occupy Wall Street chose this location. Few of these corporations are interested in an extended discussion of democracy in New York City, such as those taking shape in the public space known as Zuccotti Park. But it is just what they will have if they work with the NYPD to evict the members of Occupy Wall Street from the bonus plaza known as Zuccotti Park.

15. Thank you
You are so friggin helpful to the progressive cause. We really appreciate your defence of private property and, by extension, the banks rights to squelch, silence, or brush away dissent.

9. On the live feed.. it seems that they are bringing in professional
cleaners today to clean up the park so that there would be no need to do it on Friday.

10. Operation #wallstcleanup
The call has gone out for cleaning supplies and volunteers to clean the park before the city crews arrive so they have no reason to claim it needs cleaned.

On Wednesday/Thursday, all campers/supporters should reach out to friends/family/anyone to donate or purchase brooms, mops, squeegees, dust pans, garbage bags, power washers and any other cleaning supplies to be collected at sanitation. The sanitation committee should move full-speed ahead on purchase of bins allocated by consensus at GA.

After General Assembly on Thursday, we'll have a full-camp cleanup session. Sanitation can coordinate, and anyone who is available will help with the massive community effort!

Then, Friday morning, we'll awake and position ourselves with our brooms and mops in a human chain around the park, linked at the arms. If NYPD attempts to enter, we'll peacefully/non-violently stand our ground and those who are willing will get arrested.

Afterwards, at 9am, we'll march with brooms and mops to Wall Street to do a massive #wallstcleanup march, where the real mess is!

**UPDATE**
Come at 6am to save #occupywallstreet from eviction, as the #NYPD will be coming at 7am according to our information.

Also, we've expanded the clean-up march to cover more of lower manhattan, with a focus on the dirtiest block: Wall Street!

12. I'm sure that "cleaning" is more metaphoric and a slap at the protesters themselves.
Cleaning the park of riff-raff who don't RESPECT MAH AUTHORITAH!

14. It's a ploy to begin ending the occupation - new rules to be enforced
Bloomberg says that the park will be open for public usage following
the cleaning, but with a notable caveat: Occupy Wall Street
participants must follow the “rules”. These rules include, "no tarps
or sleeping bags" and "no lying down."

This is it folks.

Would love to post a message to Michael Bloomberg here but it would include profanity every other word.
