Occupy Wall Street + Tea Party = Game Over |
|
Take everything that OWS stands for and add that to what the Tea Party "could have stood for" and the rigged corporate/government game would be over. If the Tea Party would focus their anger not on "government" but on those in power, then their cause could gain traction with us on the left. There are so many corrupt politicians that have been bought and paid for by big money that ordinary Americans are getting shafted. OWS going after corporate greed needs to spread its wings and expand into corporations buying government. Harmonic convergence. To cap it off, corporate media needs to keep these two sides apart and confuse the story lines. Watch the way they are portraying OWS "protestors" Don't let the media get away with demonizing OWS. I may be off base, but I think if the two groups get together on what joins them, it could get interesting.

No blind adherence to ideology. If they're required to prove their arguments using actual evidence, maybe. The fundamental problem I've seen with tea party types is that they can't take the least bit of criticism. If you commit the mortal sin of introducing facts and simple logic into the discussion, they pick up their ball and go home.

They preach logic and rational thinking, then start salivating at the Koch brothers' bell.

5. Yep! The teabaggers remind me of what I saw decades ago fighting civil rights and |
|
loving the Vietnam war. SOS IMO. Same type of people, same party, same old douchebags, rebranded.

The Tea Party is the (an) arm of those in power. They are an outgrowth of the corporate media.
This may sound hyperbolic, but they are just one of several arms growing from the same monster.
Not very much we can "work with" there.
