Awesome! Americans have greater food insecurity than the Chinese!

http://www.minyanville.com/dailyfeed/2011/10/13/gallup-more-americans-struggling-to/">Gallup: More Americans "Struggling" to Afford Food Than Chinese

Such progress! I'm all tingly at the potential fruits the three new Bush-Obama "free" trade agreements. Soon we'll have a tougher time making ends meet than the Koreans, Colombians and Panamanians too!

Tonight, America's 1% nibble foie gras and sip sumptuous wines, while some poor schmucks who weren't smart enough to inherit a fortune eat ramen noodles and hope to be able to afford more noodles tomorrow. All is well in the world.

9. Same feeling here. Each day brings more bullshit. It just never ends. In many
cases we have absolute fools as politicians, and what is even scarier are those that vote them into office. I'm sure our 13% approval rating congress has everything under control. Christ, where do these people get dug up from, and the damn fools vote them into office, and then wonder WTF.

6. Sometimes I wonder if Americans don't deserve what they vote into office. This has
been going on for decades now, many Americans blindly voting, not knowing the facts and/or too apathetic to give a damn ... or to even vote. I still have friends that are clueless as to what is going on - even when presented with the issues.

It's soooo damn frustrating in this county to get someone off their ass to do something.

15. No it isn't. There's plenty good about America.
What a fucking whinefest. Love the negative piling on. It's real easy to find fault, though. Everyone's a critic!

17. When you look at the big picture...
Our shrinking middle class.
Our 1% tax breaks.
How many wars are we in today?
The failure of a jobs bill.
The passage of three more bullshit trade agreements.
Our foreign slave visa programs.
Our policies on benefits for companies that offshore, outsource or relocate.
Our health care situation.
Our K-12 education crisis.
Our continuing education affordability.
The deregulation of anything that will increase profits to corporations.
Our fossil fuel energy problem.
Also, oil goes down - gasoline goes up... and it's not price gouging?
The defunding of any research that would benefit citizens, and the increased spending on military.
The unemployment rate.
Shall I go on?

...where is all that "plenty of good" stuff? I searched and searched through your words of wisdom but couldn't find anything to back up your claim.

Maybe I can borrow a few tablets of whatever medications you are on, and your rose-colored glasses... whatever it is that allows you to wake up in the "Land of Make Believe" everyday.

Yes, everyone is a critic... and you are critical of everyone on this thread, yet offer zero examples of how wonderfully this country ranks among the rest of the world. How our politician's moral and ethical compasses are fixed on true north.

24. I happen to think our people are our greatest assets.
We have the most innovative, most efficient, most dynamic population in the world, and it is one of the few populations that continues to evolve and become more diverse as the decades pass.

Really, if it sucks so bad, you should see if some other country might have you....I kind of doubt they would. But that's about you, not the rest of the nation.

What's wrong with the US is people who bitch and do nothing....but bitch.

11. How do you like dem apples?
Here, people aren't signing up for food stamps to the tune of 113,000 just in our county. I've asked myself, "why?" - even with a ridiculous form to fill out, I'd still be doing it, as these are entitlements. Somehow, people are too stoic here in PA.
