Bill Clinton Is Aging Well
Bill Clinton, despite the "Bubba" persona of his earlier years, is becoming a true elder statesman. He's lost weight and added gravitas. His comments on the Wall Street protests are right on the mark, too. American society is becoming too unequal, said Clinton, and the people who got us into trouble haven't been punished for it. Bingo!

People have had their disagreements with Bill Clinton over the years, but the Republicans can never say he did a lousy job as president. I like the guy. I'm glad he's with us.

1. Well I can say he did a lousy job as president.
Edited on Thu Oct-13-11 09:57 PM by JTFrog
Repealing Glass-Stegall, NAFTA, Welfare reform, etc... etc... etc...

He's a big part of the reason that the Wall Street Protests are going on. Will he be punished?

Talk about being tone deaf and out of touch with reality.

13. WJC a lousy president? As BartCop would say: "Compared to whom?"
In the last half-century, who was a BETTER president than Clinton?

You can't (persuasively) call Clinton a 'lousy' president' unless you can say who WASN'T a lousy president. (I mean in actuality, not in theory.) Carter may have been morally superior, but he was an ineffective, one-termer.

Really?

With so much to attack her for on policy, you're really going to go there? What a pantload of misogynistic bullshit.

It's absolutely the truth... She's fucking tired, and it shows. If pointing it out is beyond your understanding... too bad for you.

Change your own pants. I'll bet anyone that 2 years after her 4 year stint as SOS is over, she looks ten times better than his sorry ass.

4. Everyone can take a bad photo - Hillary looks fine for a woman in her mid 60s
She looks healthier than Bill Clinton does. It is great that he was lost weight and I hope it has made him healthier, but he actually looks old for his age.

20. He isn't a vegan. He eats a "mainly vegan" diet. There's a difference, so I am told.
When he has the occasional, rare slab of fish or bite of meat, he's a vegan sinner, so I understand.
http://www.politico.com/blogs/click/0911/Bill_Clinton_isnt_a_perfect_vegan.html
“Have you gone vegan?” Ray asked Clinton during his appearance on “The Rachael Ray Show" set to air on Tuesday.

“Close,” Clinton said. “I'm very careful, because strict vegans not only don't eat any meat or fish or dairy products, but they don't ever eat any processed breads and they're very careful what kind of oil goes into their food. So I, you know, I can't quite make that. My daughter, who was a vegetarian most of her life, beats up on me to eat more fish so I maybe have fish a little bit, once or twice a month, but I sort of lost the taste for all of it.”

“So, if you could cheat, if you fell off the bandwagon, what would be your guilty pleasure?” Ray inquired. “Isn't there anything that you really miss once in a while?"

Clinton explained: “You know, last year at Thanksgiving — 'cause my daughter always brings all of her friends who, like, can't go home for Thanksgiving or come from other countries where they don't celebrate it — so Chelsea will 18 or 20 people home and tell Hillary and me what we have to do to help her cook dinner. So I had, literally, I had one bite of turkey and one bite of ham. A bite. And I didn't want it. And about once a year I have one bite of steak, and I don't want it anymore."
But there is something that Clinton still craves. "...I do miss omelets," he said. "And I get a protein hunger so I, you know, I do eat fish from time to time, a little fish. I'll eat uh, you know, a couple bites of fish or a little tuna fish if I get hungry.”

22. I always find DU funny.
I applaud him for his strides on his diet. Much like "Christians" here could find fault with someone posting here who has eaten a shrimp, or had sex outside of marriage.

Or rather I laugh at those who have issues with veganism. Because they are to me laughable idiots.

"Mainly vegan" is still pretty good, as opposed to "I'm too fucking stupid to know what to eat in my situation"

It's ok, you're hardly the only one who makes that mistake. Judge not lest be judged and all that.

14. Cheney Facing the Abyss
Dick Cheney doesn't look at all well. Maybe his long-suppressed conscience is starting to bother him, the way Robert McNamara's did. In his old age, McNamara even came clean on the Gulf of Tonkin incident, used as a pretext to start the Vietnam War.

17. Cool, so when is he going to redistribute his wealth.
After all, he is the one who brought us NAFTA, welfare "reform", and the deregulation spree that set up our current economic mess. Crying faux tears and "feeling our pain" doesn't cut it Bubba. He, like every other political and corporate architect of our current crony corporatism, made his fame and fortune off of the tears and sorrows of people all across this country.

If he truly is repentant, then there needs to be a lot more than pretty speeches and feeling our pain. The damage he and his administration caused was unconscionable.

31. Yep, Bill and Hill after living the entire adult lives in subsidized public housing are doing quite
well by any standard with a pile of cash well in excess of $100 million. Not to mention two steady monthly incomes well into the six figures and taxpayer funded health care. At that level of poverty we'd all be looking good!
