Our future is dependent on our kids at OCW
Face it..this is our chance and its on their backs at the moment. I can't quite believe it but it is true. I have no faith in our corrupt system. I have faith in us...and I especially have faith in these kids. I love them. I want to be there. I want them to realize how much we need them to continue and how very appreciative we are for them. I don't want any of them to be hurt. I'm concerned tonight. Even if I made it to New York, walking would be an issue by the time I got off the plane...but I am so there with them in spirit. I will go to my local occupy tomorrow...just want to acknowledge them and what is in front of them in the next 24 hours.

2. You are absolutely correct IMO. Writing letters, calling, visiting congressmen
are not going to do a damn thing. These kids are doing what needs to be done. Neither do I have any faith in our corrupt system. We need to do now what we did in the 60's. Many Americans have had it with this failed system. If these kids are hurt, this country is going to go insane. If we don't start to take this country back now, there will be noting left to take back.

6. I have pretty much quit calling and writing - especially since
Summer of 2009, when the phone staffer at the WH thought it hilariously funny that anyone would care about having a public option.

Our elected officials live inside a very pretty and tiny bubble insulated from anything that resembles the average person's life.

The young people in the streets understand what the future holds for us, unless the movements continue.

And many of our elected officials cannot for the life of them figure it out.

8. Hopefully the movement continues, awareness is restored in the masses and many of
our crappy elected officials are dumped.

9. I'm there with you
Would love to be in NYC or in Occupy DC - after all the Pentagon is the enforcing arm of Wall Street.....Occupy DC on the Federal Plaza needs our spirit as well.

Also, like many of you, I've been writing letters, knocking on doors, out to protest against the wars since the first war in Iraq..I was protesting in 2002 against the oncoming war in Iraq - and on MLK Day January 2003 - temperature 18 in DC..I've been demonstrating FOR the environment as well - remember Earth Day, 1990 - I was there on the National Mall....no one has listened from either party.......what was it that Bush referred to the demonstrations..an interest group?

Occupations are our last chance that there will be something left for our grandchildren....our planet can no longer take the abuse of endless wars and exploitation.

But for various reasons, I can only do a local protest and will do that here in Keene, NH.
