Regarding the coordinated attempt to shut down all the "occupy" sites nationwide
Is it related to the pending arrival of Lech Walesa? Do they want to disperse the people so there's no group like at the Lenin Shipyard in Gdansk in 1980?

From: http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/occupy_wall_street/2011/10/12/2011-10-12_lech_walesa_former_polish_president_to_visit_new_york_in_support_of_occupy_wall_.html?r=news

Lech Walesa has warned of a "worldwide revolt against capitalism" if the Wall St. protests are ignored.

Solidarity hero Lech Walesa is flying to New York to show his support for the Occupy Wall Street protesters.

"How could I not respond," Walesa told a Polish newspaper Wednesday. "The thousands of people gathered near Wall Street are worried about the fate of their future, the fate of their country. This is something I understand."

A former shipyard worker who led Poland's successful revolt against Soviet communism, Walesa said "capitalism is in crisis" and not just in America.

"This is a worldwide problem," he told the Lublin-based Dziennik Wschodni newspaper. "The Wall Street protesters have focused a magnifying glass on the problem."

7. Your idea of "ideology" is dated.
This is not about socialism, communism and capitalism. Those concepts are outdated. This about the dominance by the elite -- in our country defined by wealth -- over everyone else. In Poland, the elite was the class that held positions in the political leadership. In our country, the political leadership class is determined by wealth or by the ability to obtain the support of the wealthy.

So in our country, the concentration of wealth is the problem. That was also the problem under Communism. Party apparatchiks controlled the wealth and power. There was no alternative. Right now in our country, social and economic mobility are just as impossible as in Communism, perhaps less so.

Our society and political reality are extremely unjust right now. And we were always the beacon of hope for social justice in the world. What a sad situation.

8. Yes, the slide toward 'dominance by the elite' seems innately human
If that's true, then the presence of disparities of power and wealth would keep cropping up throughout history...regardless of a society's level of development or geopolitical circumstance. And we do see it.

Isn't this a basic theme of Marxism?

9. The protestors are not objecting to "disparities of power and wealth"
per se. They are objecting to the extreme disparities of power and wealth we see in the US today. It is the fact that they are so extreme and that the wealthy have such a stranglehold on our political system that people are upset about.

Some of them may be anti-capitalist, but most just want reform of our current run-away capitalism.

11. It seems that the disparity in power that the rich hold is
very much a consequence of their having money. And it seems that they know it, which is why they pushed for Citizens United so that they could protect their ability to maintain the disparity of power by purchasing it.

Any evidence of that? OWS doesn't need fear-mongering.
