I Recall In A "Special Comment..."
Keith stated something to the effect that he would not participate in any form of mandates when it came to HCR.

Personally, I too am having a hard time accepting the idea of mandated fees in that it merely serves to add to the insurance company's bottom line. In addition, how does this solve the fact that many of those who are not currently insured, simply can't afford it.

I'm curious how others feel.

How will President Obama get around this issue?

1. Tax credits that pay your premiums for you.
Those who truly can't afford the premiums get help. Will it be enough? Will it work the way it's supposed to? Only time will tell.

4. Thank You...
A better explanation. I probably should do my homework before I post.

3. I don't get why everyone has jumped on an either-or
scenario. Have we not had legislation in the past that was amended and changed as time went by? I fully expect the mandate to be dropped and some compromise to be made elsewhere to accommodate. Let's get some ideas out there and listen before we jump conclusions.

5. Yeah..It's True That...
the final version hasn't been written in stone. However, I think it is important to get that conversation started as soon as possible.

6. It's mandated in other countries.

they wrote the law to give more help to the poorest than they receive currently. Is it enough? Probably not; but even with mandates, the poorest Americans will be better off financially and health-wise than they are now.
