How the rich and famous (Waltons) live in Arkansas
http://www.arktimes.com/ArkansasBlog/archives/2011/10/13/alice-walton-arrested-in-texas-for-dui

These are the people who won't let alcolhol be sold in the area Wallyworlds because they are such teetotalers...I mean hypocrites. Note that this is a pattern for this woman. I don't feel very safe on the roads knowing she can drive in any condition with impunity.

Alice Walton arrested in Texas for DWI UPDATE
Posted by Max Brantley on Thu, Oct 13, 2011 at 10:39 AM

JAIL MUGSHOT: Alice Walton
Alice Walton was arrested Friday night in Texas for driving while intoxicated on Interstate 20 in Weatherford, Texas, west of Fort Worth. Friday was her 62nd birthday. She was released on a $1,000 bond.

She was convicted in a DWI case in Springdale in 1998. She was involved in a fatal accident in 1989, but no charges were filed.

The Weatherford Democrat broke the news. Here's the full newspaper account. The report said:
snip

Timing is unfortunate. Walton, daughter of Walmart founder Sam Walton, is to be part of multiple activities leading up to and including the opening Nov. 11 of the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville. The Walton family has given at least $2.4 billion to underwrite the museum.

If I had that much money, I certainly wouldn't look like that on purpose.

4. my wife had to check her chihuahua into a vet clinic
while she was still in grad school, working as a receptionist. She was driving a white hummer, and had a huge diamond pendant on a necklace--- the Republican receptionist she was working with was just frothing over that diamond-

Sadly, out of all his nasty kids, she seems like the most "decent" one, in terms of donations to charities, museums...but, it's probably just for a tax break. That family turned out to be horrible.

16. and sadly, I really do think she's the "best" of the
kids of Sam's.

Pathetic lot, aren't they? I don't fault her for drinking; it's probably one of the few ways she can live with herself...but, I damn sure fault her for not staying in one of her mansions, and not driving while she does. Surely to god she could afford to put a bar in her houses, and hire some bartenders and "friends" to hang with.

17. K & R for The Arkansas Times!
Gannett managed to kill off The Arkansas Gazette, (NOT to EVER, EVER be confused with the Democrat-Gazette) a fine publication that had endured in the wilds since 1819. The Arkansas Times is a worthy successor, home to some of the Gazette perpetrators who quaintly insisted on presenting the facts and letting readers decide for themselves.

Reckon I should forgive Max Brantley for ignoring the stolen election in Ohio back in '04?

happened just last cycle with Blanche stuffed the ballot box and Bill Hall lost and we lost the seat.

No seriously, if you can't afford to buy at least a Porche, your opinion doesn't matter!

26. Does she live there? I thought she was just driving
home from a party several hundred miles away.

I was told by an old timer when she was busted in 98 for DUI she moved her company to Texas. Now that she's been busted in Texas, where will she go? Then he chuckled.
