OWS: Paging Messrs Fogerty, Springsteen and Vedder!
Edited on Fri Oct-14-11 12:09 PM by dbt
(not to slight Mesdames Cash, Hynde and Crow, et al, who will forever be dear to my heart)

If you have already shown up at the Occupy Wall Street demonstrations, please excuse an addled old man for missing it. There's SO much to keep track of these days!

If you have not, there are a few thousand people who could sure use the reassurance of your presence and perhaps a song or two to sustain them in their righteous undertaking. (John, how do you reckon "Fortunate Son" would go down nearly half a century later?)

Maybe you are all out on the road and schedules will not permit your participation, but there's something happening here.

In the past, you have all been on the side of the People in one way or another. The People could sure stand to see your faces and hear your words--spoken or sung--right about now. The People have given you some very comfortable lives; what say you go down to the streets and return a little of that comfort?

WWJCD: What Would Johnny Cash Do?

(No, Grace Slick, I haven't forgotten you, as if anyone could! What do YOU say?)

4. Yep. He could quiet a crowd of any size
with just the strum of his right hand.

5. Because the important music is made by men in their mid forties, sixties and seventies
Hows about we let the kids pick their own music, no?

6. I'm REAL good with that.
The kids have always kicked progress right up our unwilling old asses. The mass consciousness could just use a jolt from the old heads, is all.

Let the young bands and singers come in and show us!

7. I think Michael Franti and Kanye has already
been to a OWS protest, but I don't think they performed?
