I would like say a huge THANK YOU to DU'er... |
|
formercia Two weeks ago I wrote about my husband needing a cpap machine. He has very bad sleep apnea. He'd lost his job a few weeks prior and we didn't have the health insurance any longer. The COBRA was crazy expensive. And formerica had a cpap machine he graciously donated to my husband. It came today. Next Wednesday I will take it and have it programed for him--the place will do that at no charge to us. So we'll only need to buy a mask.
Thank you, so much for helping my husband and taking that worry from me. You have no idea the weight that you've lifted from both our shoulders. I promise to pay it forward, as many times as I possibly can.
On another good note...my husband was offered a job yesterday! He will start on the 24th.
Now for the bad news...my father in law is in ICU--he has COPD, cirrhosis of the liver, and is bleeding internally. He's already on borrowed time..but any vibes that can be sent our way..will be appreciated.
DU'ers are the best!!!

1. Glad thinks are turning out okay for you and your husband. |
|
Sending good vibes for your father in law, but sometime, the best one can hope for is acceptancein letting go and serenity.
I hope both you and your husband can finally get a good night sleep! I know what it's like to sleep next to someone with sleep apnea. ..you worry that they'll stop breathing any time they stop snoring for a minute!
Best wish to your family!

Yes it's very worrisome, my daughter works with someone whose husband died from sleep apnea. He was younger than my husband. I had no idea it was so dangerous.
Thanks to formercia I won't have to worry about that!

23. Agree! So many great DUers! |
|
I hate it when some people say bad stuff about DU.
There are kind good people here. We may not always agree on finessing an issue but our hearts are good. :)

By "good" I took it to mean nothing happened to your wife because of sleep apnea.
I quit smoking last year and picked up some pounds, that I want to lose. I'm shooting for 50lbs. I'm dragging hubby along for the ride. He could lose a few lbs too.
Congrats to your wife.

Here do for each other.
Thanks for your help for those who may need it. (If you don't get any replies - offer it over in Health forum - some people there post about their apnea issues.)

As a user of CPAP technology since 2000, I have to say that I owe my much-improved health to the CPAP. I have sleep apnea too, and recently I have been diagnosed with narcolepsy. I am fortunate to have good insurance and a good job.
I'm happy to hear of the generosity that has been bestowed upon you! Here are good vibes for you and your father-in-law!
