Republicans now voting to poison the country |
|
The Republican majority House is about to block coal ash from power plants being classified by the EPA as a hazardous substance. This will ensure that the stuff, which is highly toxic, will find its way into all sorts of everyday materials, like wall board, concrete, masonry block, and roadway paving materials. Democrats have been trying all morning to add amendments to defang the new law, but without success.
This is just one more example of Republican's willingness to poison the earth to ensure profits for their Corporate masters. It is disgraceful.
5 minutes from now it will be passed.

2. Often I think, anymore, there is no stopping the US from plunging to the bottom. It was |
|
a good country while it lasted. Brains and logic seem to have fled from the "new" US.

6. I often joke here that a virus has been released to dumb down this entire |
|
population. Some of the events anymore are so egregious that it really leaves one dumbfounded and endless WTF's. It seems anymore a day doesn't go by that some completely outrageous and unbelievable event doesn't occur.

Yet. Watch their faces for that dawning moment of the realization that their time is gone.

9. The quicker we destroy the Earth, |
|
the sooner Jesus will come back. Open-ended wars and environmental degradation -- there's a method to the fundie madness. If man makes life on Earth too lovely, people won't be so concerned with making it to Heaven.

12. I think Watt did say that. |
|
The only reason they canned him later, if I remember correctly, is because he badmouthed the Beach Boys and said that they might bring in a bad element to a concert being planned on the mall in D.C. Of course, the Beach Boys were Nancy's favorite band, so Watt couldn't be tolerated any longer.
But yeah, they do believe that shit -- I've seen it up close. Rush Limbaugh and others have convinced them that the environmental movement is a liberal, commie plot designed to destroy Christianity and institute Gaia worship. Some people will believe anything they're told, as long as they are ignorant and are being told what they want to hear.
