Why Do You Need A Corporate ID To Walk On Wall Street?
Just this morning, the cops began blocking the entrance Wall Street and allowing only those with corporate IDs to enter. Whose street?

3. Why? Because we live in a fascist nation owned by banksters.
The powers-that-be (banksters) even decorated THEIR US House of Representatives with matching fasces.

7. They don't.
I walked through that checkpoint this morning and flashed a valid work ID for my office 2 block north, but they did not examine it.

10. when it is the morning rush and you look like you are going to your job, that would definetly work
but if they are checking at lower traffic times the cops might inspect the IDs

5. Believe it or not, WBAI (Pacifica Radio) is on Wall Street.
Office space down there has become a relative bargain compared to Midtown since the banksters started moving uptown after Nineleven(TM).

That certainly puts them in the catbird seat to cover OWS -- asuming their people can get to the station!

9. My guess is because they can.
Police in most jurisdiction are generally free to ask for identification.

13. Because they are afraid of Italian anarchists

Seriously, hasn't the wall street security been a bit nutty since 9/11? I went to NYSE about four or five years ago and I think it was barricaded then.

16. We are OWNED. Our only use to "them" is to be a good, non-questioning Consumer
Edited on Fri Oct-14-11 03:00 PM by slay
we stopped being people to them long ago. The rich and powerful are going to use all their power to beat us down. If #occupy is to succeed, it won't be easy, and it's going to take a long time and lots commitment from us - the people. We have been complacent for too long - we have allowed the rich and powerful to gain almost unimaginable amounts of money and power. I'm truly afraid that they will win - I hope not, but it's not going to be easy to fight these assholes - who control the cops, the media, our economy, our government - all of it.

17. actually, even our consumption isn't needed. the top 10% consume more than the bottom 90% in the us
According to new research from Moody’s Analytics, the top 5% of Americans by income account for 37% of all consumer outlays. Outlays include consumer spending, interest payments on installment debt and transfer payments.

By contrast, the bottom 80% by income account for 39.5% of all consumer outlays.

18. For about $12 you can make your own ID at OfficeMax or Staples
as good and real-looking as the ones the employees have. Ironically, as long as you don't use the corporate identity of any actual institution or company this is perfectly legal. You are allowed to create your own work-badges for yourself and your work-entities. Use something that sounds like it belongs on Wall St...like "Lenin Financial". Do not include an address on the badge!

Slightly more expensive if you need to buy a Passport picture. (I have mine in my computer so I just print one when I need it.)

Design a realistic looking badge...or find a design template on movie prop site. Formatted to ID-1 standard size. The same dimensions as a credit card.
Print it on a sheet of plain matte paper of decent quality at 300dpi. Off-white looks more legit than bright white.
Using double-sided tape, affix your picture to the ID. Make sure it's not crooked.
Taking it to your local office-supply store, get it laminated for "luggage tag".
Take it to your local supermarket and scuff it around on the linoleum for 10-15 seconds so it doesn't look brand-new.

The reason this works is because a lot of cheap companies have started doing their ID in-house the exact same way. Mock them up, affix the pic, luggage tag laminate.

You now have an ID badge for your own company. Flash and walk, bon hommes.

20. So the banksters own NYPD too. Not surprised.
If anybody here thinks the banksters are afraid of OWS, I seriously doubt they are. Why? They own Wall Street -- THE DAMN STREET. They own the cops. And they've got more money than God.

There is only one thing that will make them afraid ... seeing their own blood on the street. I'm not advocating that. I'm just saying they won't be afraid of anything else.

21. Where are Billionaires For Bush? This seems like a perfect
setting for them. They have the tuxedos and champagne glasses and they LOVE Billionaires! Lol, I love their street theater. Maybe they could get past the barricades with some fake IDs.
