Occupy La Crosse
OK, so met with Captain Lawrence of the LCPD. Really nice guy, and a firm believer in free speech. His job is to do his best to see to it that everybodies rights are protected, whether it be our to assmble and speak freely, or motorists to use the streets safely, or shopkeepers to run their business, and even bank employees to femain free from harassment. Let's all keep that in mind. Keep it clean, don't be mean, and make the scene.

Occupy La Crosse
Just had an excellent conversation with Captain Lawrence of the LCPD, and even got to meet the chief! They are completely supportive of our rights and have no ill-will towards Occupy La Crosse. More later. : )

1. Atta way Jackpine! I don't know Lawrence, but there's some good People on the LCPD...
...and you are damned smart to enroll them in your early planning.

I'll be in Milwaukee tomorrow. When's Occupy LaCrosse? Time for an autumn pilgrimage to God's Country.

2. that's nice, but all cops are liars.
The LA police chief said he'd support and respect LA occupiers, and currently the LA police are arresting and harassing the protesters. Cops in NY said they supported the protest, while mass arresting them and clubbing them. Boston cops were filmed saying they respected the protesters at the SAME TIME they were clubbing them.

I don't expect anything different in La Crosse than what is happening in all the other cities where the lying cops are clamping down.

3. You're forgetting the Wisconsin Spring
when the cops really went out of their way to deal sanely with the protestors.

Not just in Madison either. I saw really good interactions in places like Chippewa Falls & Eau Claire.

I fully expect that LaX, and the other towns in this state, can be models for peaceful protest. We've already done it.
