I'll admit I don't get to watch news like I'd like to,but what has your experience been?is there any interest in this on a national basis?

3. Democracy Now reports the wars as do Al jazeera
and LinkTV's Mosaic. I never watch network news or other corporate cable news except Al Jazeera. They're worthless on most topics, not only on the war.

7. Can you measure what "we" care about by evaluating the corporate media?

9. "we" in DU are a minority. The majority are the ones they cater to.
My co-wrokers are the majority who have no clue.they hear nothing about war, have no one in the warzone, and therefore believe that everything is hunky-dory...otherwise
"we'd hear"

"we are making progress...you don't hear about troops problems over there"...quoteth they.
"How many have we lost over there?,How many injured? How many Iraqis are homeless?"
"Is that all you have to whine about?"

This IS the mainstream.
As we enter decade number two.

They don't watch Al jazeera(traitors watch that)
Link (Traitors watch those foreigners and socialists)
Free Speech TV(What?...Snookie's on)

They SOMETIMES watch Meet The Press and those types of shows here...I heard NO reference to Iraq and Afghanistan there....for weeks.

I discussed this with vets I know...even during VietNam,we were informed somewhat about war zone statistics on national news (ABC,CBS,NBC)... people at least KNEW we were still in a war zone.

Now,they have forgotten.

How do we get them to watch Link, al Jazeera, and free speech TV?
Why should we have to?
It's like we are underground again...the war has gone underground.

10. The"minority" the corporate media caters to is its own stakeholders.
The public has very little to do with that, even the segment of the public that is very badly informed.

The wars haven't gone underground. The truth is, millions of people all over the world follow them pretty closely. The minority is actually people who still follow the corporate media in America, which is the propaganda arm of global capitalists. And they lose audience every day.
