HR 358 passes in House; Rome burns, Congress fiddles.
From an article at AlterNet.org

House Passes H.R. 358, the "Let Women Die" Act of 2011

Yesterday the GOP-led House of Representatives, with the blessings and encouragement of the United States Council of Catholic Bishops and extremist religious groups such as the Family Research Council, passed a bill in a vote of 251 to 172 that would, among other things, allow doctors and hospitals to "exercise their conscience" by letting pregnant women facing emergency medical conditions die.

Yes. Die.

This is what the Republicans called the "Protect Life Act." And no, I am not kidding.

This will undoubtedly die in the Senate before the President has a chance to veto it, but I'd still like to ask the Repug lawmakers: How will this reduce the size of government, or create a single job? Some seriously messed up and hypocritical priorities . . .

Here's the dingleberry responsible, with a link to his website, should you care to spread some piss and vinegar on it.

1. Are they doing anything at all?
Or are we only attuned to abortion issues too?

2. They are simply grandstanding
Rube, putting yourself behind an extremist bill that is bound to fail is a very old-fashioned grandstanding tactic. The politician garners the beaming admiration of his constituents while accomplishing not one damned thing.

Another form is taking a bill that is reasonable and has a good chance of passing and amending it or otherwise altering it so that it becomes unpassable, but you get to look like a tough, no-compromise hero.

4. With 251 Yes votes, several traitorous Dems voted for this garbage as well.
This is simply despicable.
