1. They probably are a POS right wing rag but I'm not sure there's much one can do about it.
Arrest records, even mugshots are public information. Cold comfort, but at least they didn't publish the mugshots as well.

Now that I think about it, though, I think I see some of what your point is- employers (current and potential) might do name searches and come across those names and it could have an effect on that, and other situations not directly related to politics.

2. I wish it was Denver Post that died instead of my beloved Rocky Mountain News
I only look at it for sports then throw the rest of it in the trash.

Ok, except for the crossword puzzles (King Media)

7. Granted DP is now increasingly a RW mess, but RMN was worse
In its day, Denver Post was reasonably liberal, while the Rocky Mountain News was horrifically right wing. Did you not recognize that?

That said, we did lose when we lost having competing newspapers and the format of the RMN was always dramatically better.

18. Yes, a 'Come to Jesus Meeting' with Anonymous
Denver you need a new mayor, this one deserves an ass kickin'. He is tainted...his action simply exposed another bought & paid for politician.
This action gives cause to Occupy Denver...march on my friends
Get Money Out of Politics..

This has to be one of Murdochs rags.

8. for the equivalent of a misdemeanor?
I agree that this is retaliatory... I wonder how many will face retribution from employers.

16. It would be scary if the government
Edited on Fri Oct-14-11 10:15 PM by Nuclear Unicorn
started arresting political protesters and there was no record, if any, except for the government's record.

"Where's Matt?"

"Dunno. Saw him at the protest last night."

"Was he arrested?"

"I thought I saw him getting loaded into the wagon but the cops say they have no record of him being processed through."

:scared:

After 9/11 lots of people of Arab and/or Muslim descent were detained and most were never reported. There was never a by-name accounting of those scooped-up as "material witnesses" (a thing that allows for near-indefinite detention without charges).

12. So what happens when someone loses their job over this...
obviously not for 'protesting' but assuredly for "reasons pertaining to job performance..."

Bollocks to this!
