That cuts out a big chunk of the top 1% IMHO. Most of Warren Buffett's income comes from capital gains.

The picture would be even more distorted in that case. (The top 1% owns about 40% of stocks.) Note that the second chart - of the top tenth of a percent - does include capital gains.
