99%ers are gathering steam everywhere
Edited on Sat Oct-15-11 05:28 PM by malaise
In Oregon a bus driver confronted and then booted a woman and her crying child from the bus. What he did not expect was that the other passengers would leave the bus when he did that. The mother has been given a free day pass and the driver has been suspended.

99%ers will no longer be treated like shite - united we stand.

Saw this on NBC Florida news

corrected it was Oregon

The bus driver, who is reportedly a mother herself, got on the loudspeaker and told the woman that she needed to make her baby stop crying, saying “I can’t drive with that noise,” reported a fellow passenger who added that the baby was not crying loudly, and the mother was doing everything she could to soothe her baby—“nursing her, rocking her, singing to her, shushing her. The mom wasn’t sitting there indifferent.”

The driver eventually stopped the bus and walked to the back to speak with the mother, who reportedly spoke little English. The mom then got off the bus with her baby. When another passenger complained to the driver that, “You can’t just kick a woman off the bus because her baby’s crying,” the driver reportedly replied that if she didn’t like it, that passenger could get off the bus as well.

In a surprising show of solidarity with the mom, she and several other passengers did disembark—and then the bus pulled up several feet and stopped again, letting the remainder of the passengers off. "Every single person got off the bus, and it was a full bus, with just two empty seats," one of the passengers reported.

2. It is not a movement, but a global revolution.
The rich were allowed to steal money and now the people of the world want justice for the crimes committed against them, their children and future generations. The box been opened and can't be closed again.

4. A return to fairness in the market place.
A return to equality and opportunity for one and all imo. Civility only happens when both sides agree to negotiate on make considerations. Have no idea if the 1% are ready to make changes...but it seems The People are going ahead without them.

7. I'm sure at least some of them complained to the bus company
As they should. Sorry if it costs the driver her job, but she shouldn't have done that. As a mother she knows that babies will cry in public. What did she want the mother to do? Suffocate her baby into silence. No sympathy here for the driver.

9. Well said
The drivers will have to remember that they too are part of the 99% and we're all in this thing together.
