Springfield group hangs from hooks for fun, neighbor objects
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. | A Springfield group is looking for a an indoor venue for monthly meetings, which involve a unique pastime — hanging in the air from hooks threaded under their skin. They are seeking a new place to meet after a neighbor objected because the group was hanging from a tree within sight of his house.

The Anti-Gravity Relaxation Organization of Springfield has been meeting monthly since August at a home of one of the members. They hang by hooks threaded under the skin of their backs and knees from a tree in the home's yard.

That's not far from where Aaron King lives with his family, including two young children. He says he doesn't want the group to be banned, but he thinks they should hold their suspensions someplace where others can't see them, The Springfield News-Leader reported.

"My concern ... is that I don't think anyone should be forced into a situation where they have to view this activity, or keep their kids inside so they don't see it," said King.

1. Maybe Aaron Kings' kids could pick up the hobby of throwing rocks at things hanging from
trees? They could call themselves the Anti-Gravity Rock Throwing Society of Springfield.

2. I suspect that not being able to make people aghast
would take all the fun out of it for them.

6. I wouldn't want to see it either.
Maybe this fits somewhere under "disturbing the peace". People of course have the right to hang from hooks if they want to, but I think neighbors should also have the right not to see it.

I once had a roommate who said she liked to do that. I've seen photos, and for me, it was unnerving and disturbing to see.

11. After reading the full story, I think the REAL news is that people on all sides...
of this seem to be *gasp* actually talking to each other like adults, and looking for an actual solution that works for everyone.

I'm shocked, simply shocked that such a thing is allowed to take place, especially in the bible-belt.
