AARP's puff-piece on the former Commander-In-Codpiece
http://www.smirkingchimp.com/thread/sherwood-ross/33706/aarps-the-magazine-plays-softball-in-the-bush-league

In what must rank as one of the most incredible magazine interviews ever published, AARP's "The Magazine," circulation 24-million, devotes its January/February cover to a propaganda makeover in behalf of ex-president George W. Bush.

Next to the happy, smiling face of this clueless warmonger are the words: "What he regrets, what he wants next (grandkids!)"---as if Bush is some typical retiree who hadn't started two wars over resounding global protests and brought misery and death to millions.

The title of the article is "What's Next for George W. Bush?" and the idea of his being put on trial for crimes against humanity is, of course, never mentioned. Under the article title are words designed to bathe Bush in the sunlit glow of virtual sainthood. To quote Ms. Graham's introduction: "At this relatively mellow moment in his life, George W. Bush, the 43rd president of the United States, wants nothing more than to be a good friend and neighbor."

5. I think I have to join them.
My brother suggested it. I will have no insurance after June 11. I have a preexisting condition that I don't expect anyone will cover, but I will need major medical until I turn 65 in 2013. Unless someone else has a solution, they may be the least expensive for me.

13. I think it comes into effect this year.
They can't ban me from buying an insurance policy, but they don't have to pay for anything related to my preexisting condition. At least that is how I understand it.

7. Wife says Rudy Guliani is the self ordained CEO of 911... I wonder if anyone
else feels that way, and GW I'd imagine was the president of 911.

10. AARP Has Conservative Competition.......
AMAC (Association of Mature American Citizens)is The Conservative alternative to AARP.

I think AARP has been trying some good old bipartisanship. Bipartisanship is all the rage now, UGH!
In reality I can't blame them for trying to hold on to all seniors. It would be a shame for seniors to splinter off and water down our negotiating power.

11. Which gives us some idea why seniors are uninformed. I refuse to
be part of their organization.
