Dozens Of Arrests At Occupy Wall Street Times Square Rally
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) – As thousands of Occupy Wall Street protesters marched and held rallies Saturday to commemorate the four week anniversary of the protests, nearly 70 were arrested.

Dozens of those arrests were at the Times Square rally.

“Around 8 p.m., a large disorderly group at 46th St near 6th was given at least three separate warnings to disperse and when they did not 42 arrests were made,” Deputy NYPD Commissioner Paul Browne said.

1. A fellow protester told me, at around 6:30pm, that some were beaten at 46th st
where we were. He was right at the edge of it all, where the riot police and mounted police were. He said a cop moved a barricade and a few protesters started to go through it and they got beaten with batons and kicked by horses since the cops were making the horsed move forward. He didn't know if they got arrested. We were about 20 feet from there when I heard him talking about it and asked him what he saw. He moved away since he didn't want to get arrested.

I left around 7-7:30 to go down to Washington Park and the north area had mostly dispersed already. I walked south and saw that there were still a lot of protesters down there. There were drums going and they were doing this thing with a parachute type thing, I don't know what it's called. And there was a guy with a "no drones" banner with a 3-4 foot model airplane on a stand. I supposed that's the area where the arrests were made.

All in all it was a very peaceful protest. As we were marching up and chanting "you are the 99%" and "we are the 99%" I pointed at the line of cops keeping us on the sidewalk and one of them nodded at me. I saw another one wink at a protester. So keep in mind it's a mixed bag and there are definitely cops who agree with us out there. And the white shirt who was using a bullhorn asked us very politely to stay on the sidewalks and to get through intersections quickly.
