Why is the media propping up Rick Perry? |
|
I ask this as an outside (Canadian) observer. The man is clearly a fool. Americans---as reflected in recent polls---recognize this. Yet the televised press continues to maintain that he's a viable candidate. Now, I realize the need to generate excitement (read: ratings) for the nomination process, but it is getting a tad ridiculous, wouldn't you agree?
PS: I concur with any and all of your criticisms of Stevie Boy Harper. :-)

2. They just got finished gelding him. |

My guess is now they intend to disembowel him. Perry seems to have been set up as a punching bag.

3. Welcome to DU! Excellent question for which there's no answer I can figure. |
|
Except our televised press's strings are pulled by those with all the money and whose agenda is pretty clear to those of us who pay attention. I can't figure why any of the republicon candidates get any press at all, but that's just me. I get most of my news from DU! I'll reserve comment about Stevie Boy, but I do wish it hadn't rained the entire time during my recent visit to Vancouver! Beautiful city, BTW, even in a downpour!
Peace.

5. They thrive on conflict and horse races. |
|
That's what keeps their ratings going. Perry still has enough people out there who don't think he's a fool, and the MSM recognizes that. Keep them in the game, and your ratings stay higher. If enough people believe Romney isn't "inevitable", they'll keep watching.
"Getting" a tad ridiculous? It has been ridiculous since at least 2000.

He's a wannabe, he's a white good ole boy who the rednecks love, but he'll vote to screw them every time. What else could you want? Oh,and as an added plus, he's even dumber than W. I truly did not think that was possible.

16. Because that's where the advertising money is. |
|
Perry is the money-men's favorite.
And that is what OWS is about. We are sick of having our political candidates picked by a tiny group of very rich people.
This clique has made our "democracy," or representative government, if you will, a joke -- just a very cruel joke for most of us.
Perry is their latest version of a punch line.
Just wait. There is a good chance he will be elected. The media hype will be overwhelming.
