Can DU Help Wisconsin out a bit?
DA.
From a Wisconsinite, thanks for all the support you guys have shown us over time with the Senate Recalls, the Ians Pizza for us protesters, or for even giving K&R, positive thoughts and vibes for the Working class of Wisconsin.

I was writing to see if you guys could help Wisconsin out, once again, by contributing to the Scott Walker recall campaign.

**Mods, if I'm not allowed to make a fund raising post, I apologize and feel free to remove it or move it to somewhere better fitting**

But if you can help spread the word, it would be greatly appreciated. Per Wisconsin law, Walker (or any candidate being recalled) Can raise UNLIMITED funds for their campaign, which we know the Koch brothers will help him with. And while I'm not asking for people to outfund the GOP (We know thats impossible) But simply to help us get to our goal of $540,206 to help open up offices, getting supplies, marketing, whatever else it might take for the recall.

I personally have taken a pledge to donate $20 of every paycheck I get to this, if you can help spread the word to other friends or sites, it would be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks!

1. I contributed several hundred earlier this week to the recall Walker fund.
I will contribute more if the fund lags. But according to the "cool" progressives here on DU, I am rightwing. I say bull plucky, some of the OPs that progressives jump and cheer for appear to be republican sock puppets, one only has to look at their constant attacks on President Obama and democrats.

3. Thank you bluestate10 :)
Quite honestly, I despise the name calling, class dividing banter in any party, the only way to move forward is together. Volunteering with United Wisconsin, I ran into even several Republicans who know that he's bad for the state and signed pledges to recall him. If its wrong, its wrong, regardless of which party it is, and I think people who just follow party lines without knowing exactly what the politician is representing, is ignorant

7. I am watching the fund and will contribute more in need be.
But I would like to see some of the strident DU Progressives voices stand up for once and be counted. I have little to no respect for some of them, and Walker and the Koch brothers have nothing to fear from them.

10. Glad to hear your dedication to the cause, Bluestate
Hopefully more people can follow your example. As for progressives expressing themselves, well, we are all Democrats. If you get 10 Democrats in a room, they are probably going to have 10 different opinions. It's what we do together as a group that matters.

2. Interestingly, an appeal was made on DU earlier in the week.

If one is to believe those on DU calling themselves dyed in the wool Progressives, the fund would be overflowing with cash by now.

9. Can people not mail in $5? Would some rather buy a cartoon of cigs,
instead of setting the stage for getting rid of Walker and sending a message that will resonant big in the 2012 election year? Why should Walker and the Koch brothers give a shit about people that are not willing to fight to their fucking last breath if need be?

rather take care of my immediate needs than give my pittance to something going on in another state that would be unlikely to bring any relief to me any time soon.

been there, that's how it is.

ps a carton of cigs is a lot more than $5. poor people roll their own, it's waaaay cheaper.

11. Am on board with $
and with volunteer time. I HATE what has happened to this formerly wonderful state. My like-minded friends are also in this fight.

Yeah, in many respects Ground Zero is still in Wisconsin. Recalling Scott Walker would be such a gratifying way to begin the domino game and knock out other incendiaries currently in leadership positions.

Will donate on behalf of some great relatives in Clear Lake, WI and encourage them to do likewise.
