1. What if you're not part of the 99%?
I'm pretty sure with my job, income, and inheritance that I'm not.

I'd like a clever graphic too.

Even with your job, income and inheritance you actually are still part of the 99% you have just been convinced that you are not.

Let's make a new rule that no one can post anything unless it is relevant to 100% of us.

You have not seen real gloating, if you think that's an example.

42. If you think you are in the Top 1%, guess again. First of all, you'd be posting from your yacht. In
France. With Russian oligarchs, British politicians, and Czech call-girls. On your way to one of your estates. Before giving bidding instructions to Sotheby's. For the Monet. To put in your private 747.

Etc.

26. Um, if you're not part of the 99% you wouldn't post it.
If you'd like a clever graphic to display your 1% status, make one yourself, or pay someone to design one for you. It's as simple as that.

Do you really need someone to spell that out for you?

I think not.

32. It would sorta depend. It would depend on what you did with that bounty.
Have you somehow used it to be helpful to someone else in need?

Corporations that are just sitting on piles of money, whining about "uncertainty!!!" and not creating any jobs or being predatory on the downtrodden - what the hell is this, the jungle???? Wealthy individuals who whine that they shouldn't have to contribute a little more when their country/state/community is in crisis and they are well-positioned to help a little more?

People who have more, I think, are obligated. They just ARE. THEY are the ones who should be splurging on solar panels and other alternative energy for their homes, either as they rebuild or remodel. THEY are the ones who can afford to spur the growth of those industries - that start out being expensive, but whose prices could start coming down with more business - again, from the ones who can afford it. The rich are the ones who should be leading the way on this - all the things that can be done in their homes, on their estates, in and on their properties, and why? SIMPLY BECAUSE. BECAUSE THEY CAN. They're the ones uniquely qualified and positioned TO BE ABLE to do this. And I think they're obligated. I mean, forcryingoutloud! I look around in some of the ritzy areas of L.A. and I'm seriously aghast, looking at the rooftops of all these mansions and really nice elegant Architectural Digest homes. WHERE are the solar panels? Of all people, THESE people who live like royalty in these ritzy neighborhoods should ALL have solar panels on their homes. They're the ones who can afford to. Lead the way, spur the businesses and contractors and product researchers and developers and generate some action and set an example so that other people become interested and there's lots of new demand and prices start going down as more businesses get interested in this thriving new market. EVERY house in Bel Air, the Pacific Palisades, Beverly Hills, Malibu, Hancock Park, Encino, Hidden Hills, San Marino, Palos Verdes Estates and other such areas should have some sort of solar power in it. This is So Cal where it never rains "and the sun is shining all the time" so there's really no excuse, dammit!

Look how many other ways that effect repeats in nature. Hell, I even see it in my own little world. If you're big and tall and strong and muscular, why the hell SHOULDN'T you be expected to carry more of the weight - figuratively OR literally? I mean, you don't strap cargo on the backs of chickens for a cross-country trek, 'eh? You get the pairs of oxen and the strongest horses and mule teams and burros and camels and elephants and such. It certainly plays out within the little universe of my kid's band. They all fall into various positions of expertise in their various roles within the band and the crew based on their individual strengths. This one kid who's a friend of the boys, who's 21, 6'3" with big bulky bone structure and must weigh about 250 pounds is the one who expects to be needed for loading and unloading all the large heavy amps and stuff when the band has a local gig. And he pitches in readily, actually he always offers. Nobody would expect me to do that stuff, for example, because I'm 58 and out of shape and simply not equipped. But he's perfectly suited to help like this. Accordingly, the rich are equipped to do these extra things. Spend the extra pennies (or okay dollars - maybe lots of them) on the stuff that needs doing, fixing, building, moving, improving, etc.

And when your country's in crisis and people are out of work and things are pretty shitty all around you, while you yourself are in good shape and can maybe help with it a little, get up off yer ass and just go goddam DO IT. Stop thinking about what you need to hoard because there's some magic mysterious "uncertainty" out there. If you're wealthy, and you have enough to ride out the bad times just fine, you don't HAVE uncertainty and you have no right to complain about it. You're freakin' OBLIGATED to step forward for the sake of the common good. It's your patriotic duty to your country at a time like this! Pay it forward a little if you've got a lot extra. THINK of SOMETHING! Your country and your fellow citizens in crisis need it! HIRE an extra person or messenger for your office if you're the owner and you're doing well. At home, pay some kid to come in and run errands for you or take your dog to the dog park twice a week. Get that home repair project DONE - hire one of the neighborhood fix-it specialists, give them some work! Upgrade your garden or your terrace. HIRE some people to come in and do the work so they have income for the day. HIRE somebody to come in and redo your closets. ALWAYS put something more than a buck or a couple of quarters in the tip jar. These people work hard for their living and if you're a trust fund baby you don't have to. So how 'bout trying to share the burden in some way(s) - in whatever way you're able? Those who have, are the ones equipped to lead on this - BECAUSE THEY CAN. They're equipped. They're the ones with the money who can afford to generate some action.

Seems to me if one has this attitude and attempts to contribute according to his or her ability to help, then you have a right to stand with the 99% - because you're the one interested in addressing their concerns. And I don't know if you were being sarcastic or what. But that's just where my mind went. So few seem interested in helping. Stepping forward and being of genuine help to others in this time of great need. The dialogue centers around "I don't wanna! I don't HAVE TO! No one is the boss of me!" "MINE!" "Screw you if you get in my way!" And "tough shit if you don't have any money or a job. Too bad. It's your fault anyway. Now get outta here and stop bothering me."

Or as my dad used to joke - "IGMFU." As in - "I Got Mine, F-U." It's THAT attitude, which is distressingly widely-embraced, that has to go.

46. Okay
You are more than welcome to join those protesting for reasons of injustice, lack of accountability, and wars that have perpetuated without end.

I'm sure you can either come up with something clever, or can hire someone who is clever enough to come up with a graphic for that. You don't have to be part of the "99%" to have some upset with the way our country has been run.

I'm sure many here can make several suggestions as to how you could help.

The arrow should point to the right, as my avatar pic (facebook pic?) is to the left of my name.

If it pointed to the right, it would be cooler.
