7. So now it's not about ACTIONS |
|
...as has been said around these parts ad nauseum?
If a policy that benefits Americans at large is implemented, are you saying it doesn't count as much if you don't feel that he's sincere about it?

11. I'm saying that when the economy is still trashed, nothing he can do |
|
--is going to change the lives of large numbers of people. If he wants support, he needs to unequivocally state that he is on our side, as often as possible. What does going after medical marijuana instead of bank fraud say about that? Publishing laundry lists about microconstituencies that benefit from legislation can backfire. It's like bragging about sending out a lifeboat that collects 10 our of 100 drowning people. What do you expect the other 90 to do? Stand up and cheer?

ramping up the use of high-stakes tests to take down unions and help privatize public education;
losing his voice and comfy walking shoes when it counted in Wisconsin;
Signing more "free trade" acts in the midst of the OWS movement;
Continuing and expanding the bogus fucking "war on terror;"
Spending our military in other arenas, as well;
putting SS and medicare on the table;
keeping single payer off the table and the corporate insurance industry at the insurance trough;
I could do this all day.
I'll stop here and say: appointing a bunch of shit-bag neo-liberals and corporate toadies to his administration; spending his time making republicans happy and acting like Ronald Fucking Reagan while tossing traditional Democratic supporters under the bus...
His accomplishments don't impress me, unless by "impress" you mean "piss off and antagonize."
