Occupy Anchorage, week 2 - photos

About 200 people showed up yesterday in the rain for week 2 of Occupy Anchorage. It's starting to get cold here, but we've vowed to come at -20 if necessary. We know how to dress for the weather. :)

14. Those photos make me miss Anchorage.

I was born and raised there, but I haven't been back for several years. Most people think I'm crazy for thinking this, but the winter time is my absolute favorite. I have many good memories of skiing, sledding, the Iditarod, Fur Rondy, snow shoeing... oh yeah, and lots of hot cocoa.

I may not be there now, but I'm up there in spirit. Go Anchorage!!

15. The bearded fellow in the first picture...

Looks very much like a friend of my dad's from up there. It's been a really long time since I've seen him, but that sure looks like him. What a (potentially) small world. :)

Anchorage has its issues, but it's a good town at heart. And I'm with you on the winter thing. I don't do much athletic stuff these days, but I do enjoy the winter festivals, Fur Rondy and especially the Iditarod. We've gone out to Nome for the finish the past three years. It is so much fun.
