MORE Pizza Dork©, on rape, incest and abortions: "Percentage of those instances is so miniscule!" |
|
http://videocafe.crooksandliars.com/david/cain-abortion-no-exceptions-rape-and-incestThe candidate, who has promised to work to overturn Roe v. Wade, told NBC's David Gregory that he believes in "life from conception." "I do not agree with abortion under any circumstance," he insisted. "Exceptions for rape and incest?" Gregory asked. "Not for rape and incest," Cain replied. "Because if you look at rape and incest, the percentage of those instances is so miniscule that there are other options."

6. Reminds me of Bush and "the rights of the unborn"... |
|
...until they're old enough to be shipped overseas and become cannon fodder.
I'm Catholic, and that was the foundation of the church's pro-Bush / anti-Kerry stance during the 2004 election...voting for the candidate who "respected the rights of the unborn." PRO-CHOICE Kerry was painted as "pro abortion," but very, very subtly. Names were never named but the message was delivered loud and clear.

7. Cain is probably hiding something he did earlier in his life. |

Such obsessive opposition to certain things often indicate that the attacker is showing some guilt. But I'm just throwing around a random conspiracy; the more obvious thing is that what else do you expect conservative Baptists like him to think about the abortion issue?
I really doubt that Republicans can win on the abortion or gay marriage issues anymore, at least in this decade, given the combined factors of changing social attitudes and the struggling economy.
Oh, do you really know where "miniscule incidences" occur? FRAUDULENT VOTING! And yet Republicans aggressively scapegoat all people who lack ID cards when it's effective enough to prosecute individual offenders.

8. The percentage might be miniscule |
|
But even one 12 year old or 10 year old girl forced to bear the child she got pregnant from via a molestation is too many. Even one woman forcibly raped and forced the bear the child of her rapist is too many. Even one woman who dies because she can't get medical treatment since the doctors thought the fetus was still viable (even when it wasn't) is too many.
For people that doubt science, they certainly latch onto the idea that life begins at conception with ease. They will ignore the science of 12 year old girls getting pregnant via incest being harmful to that little girls' health, but whole-heartedly agree that a sperm and an egg automatically means a living, breathing human being. Many religions don't believe that a fetus is even a human being until they are able to move about in the womb, but hey - science says that a sperm and an egg uniting two seconds later automatically means that it is a living breathing human being that takes precedence over anyone else involved, even the person bearing that "egg and sperm".
This has never been about abortion - this is also about birth control. Don't think for a moment if abortion is made illegal that birth control won't also be the next to go.

12. That's a common meme among the anti-choicers |
|
They spew that garbage so they can feel virtuous while forcing victims of incest and rape to bear the children of their attackers.

So if a 10 year old is raped, and she's too small to give birth safely |
|
without cutting her open in a C-section, he's okay with that. Monstrous. And who pays for giving birth to a rapist's child? It's many thousands of dollars for maternity care and delivery. But he apparently thinks the victim should foot that bill.

16. It happened in a Latin American country |
|
I think the victim was 9 years old. She was forced to have the child because the Church threatened to excommunicate any doctor that attempted to intervene on the child's behalf. That's where this kind of thing leads to - 9 year olds being forced to have children they can't even begin to care for out of circumstances the people making such laws can't even comprehend. Monstrous is the only way to put it.
Also, this is rather personal for me, too. Before my mother had me, she had a miscarriage. The child wasn't viable, but the doctor's at the hospital she was at (it was a religious hospital) couldn't prove it - even though the rot could be smelled outside of her hospital room. My father finally got her moved to a different hospital, and she nearly died. Had she stayed in that hospital under their "care" one more day, I wouldn't even be here, because my mother would have died of an infection.
THIS is the kind of thing they advocate. They are saying your life as a woman does not matter beyond your ability to bear children, and if you die in the process of bearing children, oh well, that's all you are worth anyway.

19. How awful. It has happened here, too. |
|
I met a social once from the south who told of an 11 year old with ribs protruding, she was too small and thin to safely give birth. She had been raped by her father. In her state, only a judge could give permission for a minor to get an abortion without parental consent, and the judge refused (daddy was in law enforcement, I was told). The poor child suffered horribly and wound up with a Caesarean.
