7. At Lowe's yesterday, I saw a mother trying to calm down her toddler... |

Seems that with all the decorated trees, the little girl figured Santa was nearby.

11. I was in Pier 1 yesterday.......... |
|
........buying a $25 gift card to give as a b-day gift, and they had the Christmas crap out already. Was talking to one of the sales guys -- he told me the stuff actually came in September 1st, but they refused to put it out until they were almost sold out of the Halloween stuff.
I don't know who they think has any money to spend on Christmas - I sure don't (took a 50% cut in pay so I could stay "gainfully" employed -- don't get me wrong, I am DAMN grateful to have a job, but fuck this economy already!).

I like the feel of Christmas, even if it's mid-October.

17. Now that I'm old I kind of get it - time goes by quicker, so much to do all the time |
|
And I'm retired (I'm in my mid 40s, so I'm not ancient; just old). I have to mail all my holiday packages, and I start shopping for good gifts - not just any old crap, but things my friends/family will like and use - in September. No matter what the holiday(s) are called, I like the lights, decorations, smells and even the preparation and sense of 'gotta get this accomplished.' Takes my mind off how cold, dark, wet and dead it is outside.
