He says the war in Afghanistan will not end anytime soon. Troops will be there until 2014 and beyond. He thinks we can still "win" it.
So much for a pull-out.
Anyone else watching?

I do not get CBS. I'm interested in any more that you have to share on this segment of 60 Minutes. I've been "outlining" an essay on President Obama, the generals, and Afghanistan (in my mind), and this fits in with it.

I do not think that President Obama could end that war of occupation, even if he wanted to .... and I think that he had planned to.

He was asked about thousands of teachers laid off here in the USA and is this "war" worth it? He says YES it's worth it...but he has no idea what the goal is. He's just a trained killer with vast resources and he doesn't even know how the Soviet Union couldn't defeat their own "enemy" in Afghanistan for 12 years and they were right NEXT DOOR. GRRRRR
