How about Jets/Packers in the SB? It might turn out to be an interesting game this year! (Even for us EAGLES fans...Lookin' for a new Defensive Coordinator as of today...) mark

I hadn't really paid much attention to either team this year, I just took it for granted that the patriots would win. Oh well.

First the Giants upset the Patriots perfect season by defeating them in the Super Bowl, now the Jets win a game they were expected by everybody to lose.

Though I tend to favor teams that have better defenses/running game than the team they are facing, though I do get those picks wrong time-to-time.

35. It isn't whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game... |

...and a five minute snippet of professional soccer shows a hell of a lot more strategy and skill than 10 seconds of passing, throwing and (maybe) catching.

29. Lots of sad folks up this way |
|
But then again, there are lots of happy folks in New York (and other locales I would imagine). All week I shared my concern about the Jets winning with friends and co-workers, and just about all of them were confident to the point of near arrogance about the Pats advancing to the AFC Championship game. The sports media wasn't much better. Ouch!
Now, with the Pat's lost, I can root for the Steelers to win on Sunday with a clear conscience. I also have a feeling that the energy and emotion the Jets spent over the last two weeks (and especially today) will catch up to them in Pittsburgh.
My prediction for the Super Bowl is Pittsburgh vs. Green Bay, giving a slight nod to the Packers because of the on-field leadership of Aaron Rodgers. By the way, I am a long time Pats fan, back when they were the laughing stock (no, I mean really laughing) of the NFL. I surely thought the grim reaper would come a-calling before I would see them win a Super Bowl, never mind three, and become a respected NFL franchise. I'm content.
Here's saluting the Jets for a game well played! :toast:

After watching the Steelers game yesterday I told my skeptical husband I thought the Jets would beat New England. He's not laughing at me tonight. Too bad I don't have a gut feeling about the Powerball drawing on Wednesday.
