A message from Eugene Debs that is timely today as it was then.
"The issue is Socialism versus Capitalism. I am for Socialism because I am for humanity. We have been cursed with the reign of gold long enough. Money constitutes no proper basis of civilization. The time has come to regenerate society — we are on the eve of universal change."

2. The problem with Capitalism
is when you try to build a society around it. It simply is a type of an economic system, and is very terrible in building a governing society that is fair, just, and orderly. Capitalism relies on chaos, and is in constant flux where fair competition comes in waves in-between dominant monopolies.

5. Societies will always be built around their economies.

Production is the material means of society and will always shape it. The trick is to organize the means of production to meet the needs of all, not for individusl profit.

3. Eugene V. Debs was awesome.
He would find much that is familiar to him in today's society, unfortunately. :(
